Barranco is Lima's bohemian side of town, various writers and painters have settled down here.

In the picture the monument of Chabuca Granda can be seen, a well known peruvian singer and composer. Right by her side, José Antonio, principal character in one of her most famouse songs, is riding on his horse. The monument is facing the Bridge of Sighs (Puente de los Suspiros), about which another song of Chabuca Granda is telling.

The small church in the picture is called La Ermita (the Hermit).
