Castle Mound in Drohiczyn
Poland

'Castle Mound' in historic town of Drohiczyn, Eastern Poland. View to meandering Bug River carving its way trough glacier formed highlands. Bug River natural valley is protected by landscape preservation park that stretches along the banks and includes neighboring areas. There are also several bird and wildlife sanctuaries. In the past the river became border of Austro-Hungarian Empire (far side of the river) and Prussia after partitions of Kingdom of Poland in 18th century. During World War II (1939-1941) river again was border this time between German Third Reich (far side) and Soviet Union.
