Standing at a vantage point in Castle Crags State Park near Dunsmuir, California.  The crags are a prominent landmark along Interstate 5 & contain large granite spires & domes.  Nearby is Castle Dome, to which one can climb up an aerie approach when conditions are dry.  Directly below is a steep gully where water was trickling down from the dramatic cliffs.  When it is clear, one can see Mt. Shasta to the north.
