CzechTek 2006 - Night
Czech Tek 2006
The legendary Czechtek festival. For those who aren't familiar with it, this was the Bohemian techno scene's annual anarchic masterpiece of noise. Pictured here is what seems to have been the last ever Czechtek, held in 2006, on some military wasteland in western Bohemia. After photographing it I became discouraged realizing that there was no way to actually convey the endless, vast size of this place. You could walk for an hour or two in any direction - if you could find a straight line, that is. No center stage. No center of any kind. Pure noise. Surely more than 150 sound systems, each one pounding beats into the night sky. Lasers, strobes. Dancing. Jumping. You can find anything you want here, if you can find it. Don't lose your friends or you might be searching till the sun comes up.

More About Czech Tek 2006

Held in a secure military training ground in a bizarre stroke of irony, this was the last Czechtek festival to be put on. For those who don't know, Czechtek was the largest and most anarchic techno festival of this part of the world -- up to a few HUNDRED individual sound systems, camped out for a week, pumping out beats basically nonstop. A nonstop party of such ridiculous magnitude that it is literally impossible to imagine, even with the help of images or sound. But you can try your best with these panoramas.
