Primroses and buttercups in a graveyard at Dundon, Somerset. VR
England

This image has been re-mastered for Virtual Reality using a suitable viewer.

This is St Dunstan's Churchyard with buttercups and primroses growing among the gravestones. Buttercups look good but they are an invasive weed, hated by many gardeners. Primroses, on the other hand, are a welcome spring flower.

In medieval times, an ointment was made by boiling the leaves with lard to treat cuts. On May Day, bunches of primroses were laid on the floor of cowshed to protect cattle from witches.
