Daman located 150 Km noth of Mumbai was discovered by Diogo-de-Melo and remained a Portuguese colony till 1961 when it was incorporated into India. In the morning after the sun is high in the the boats are dragged up the sandy slops of Moti Daman Jetty and the fishermen catch a well deserved snooze in the shade of their wooden fishing boats.
