Sunset over an eruption
Reunion

This particularly important eruption began on April 2, 2007 and lasted one month. Not less than 130 million cubic-meters of lava ran out between the eruptive crack at 590 meters heigth and the sea, on a thickness exceeding sometime 60 meters. The heat and of the acid rains destroyed any vegetation around. Three years later in-depth temperature still reaches 450°c.
