The “Tower of Light” is located at the square of Sanmin No. 1 Park opposite to Kaohsiung City Museum of Hakka Culture. It was originally a TaiPower high voltage tower. Because of the cable underground project, all towers were designated to be removed. However, the Kaohsiung City Government reserved one for commemoration. Hence, a NT$ 40 million budget was allocated to retrofit it with energy saving and environmental protection concepts to make use of solar power generation for illuminating the “Tower of Light.” The Ttower is like a breathing power tower and adds many colors to the night in Kaohsiung.
