S. Mamede de Ribatua, belongs to the municipality and county of the village of Alijó and the district of Vila Real. It is located at an altitude of 400 meters and dives its feet in the waters of the Tua and Douro rivers. It also adjoins the industrious villages of Castedo, Alijó, Carlão, Amieiro, and the neighboring town of Safres, planted about three kilometers from the parish headquarters and connected to it by a modest road with a fabulous setting.
The Roman road that connects São Mamede RibaTua to Safres and from there continues through several locations. Although in small sections it is in poor condition and has disappeared, it is still passable and recommended for lovers of hiking, it is advisable to take a camera, or similar.
