A view from the top of Ara della Regina, the largest Etruscan sanctuary. The foundation dates to the 7th century BC.  Later additions made it a work in progress until abandonment in the 3rd century BC. [ As of 2011 the site is closed and fenced due to a lack of funds for staffing and restoration. ]
