A good 40 minutes boat trip from the Venice mainland is the island of Burano, known for their lace works and its colourful houses . Local fishermen have their houses painted this way because they want to see their houses through thick fogs especially when they are out in the lagoon.
Burano also has its own leaning tower - the bell tower of the Church of Saint Martin (Chiesa di San Martino) at Burano's main square - the Piazza Baldassarre Galuppi. With a height of 53 metres it has an inclined of 1.83 metres with respect to its vertical axis ...
We were here on the 23rd April 2017 .
