Castleroddy National school was built in 1832 The school served the rural area until the early sixties when it was replaced by St Eugene's Primary School Ticur The old school had remained intact on the site until the heavy snow & severe winters and of 2009-2010 & 2010 - 2011 resulted in a rapid deterioration of the fabric of the building. The current owner of the School refurbished the building in 2016
