Connemara is a region North West of Galway. It is the largest Irish-speaking Gaeltacht (Irish word for „Irish-speaking region“). It is famous for ist breath taking natural beauty. The coastline of Connemara is dominated by many peninsulas with a rough coastline and a few deep cut bays – or rather fjords. The Sky Road is a drive you can take near Clifden. The part of the route that runs along side the coast is also part of the Wild Atlantic Way. The Connemara Pony is considered Ireland's only native breed.
