Coral Pink Sands State Park is located in southwestern Utah near Kanab. Iron oxide colors the sand which has weathered from Navajo sandstone, and carried to dunes by the high winds funneled between two mountain ranges.
It rained the night before this image was captured. Water trapped in the sand provided the deep coral-pink saturation seen here.
