Con una capacidad de volumen de 6,71hm3 y ocupando una superficie de 102 hectáreas es un embalse cuya principal característica son las grandes rocas que pueblan todo el embalse, combinadas con zonas de playas la profundidad media del embalse a 1 m de la orilla es de 2 m aunque hay zonas cuya profundidad llega a los 15 m. Es un embalse con poca vegetación salvo algún arbusto. Al ser un embalse pequeño tiene muchas variaciones de nivel, hace 12 años se secó totalmente pero hoy día la pesca se recuperó de una forma prodigiosa y se encuentra en su máximo esplendor.
