falaises et village de ste honorine des pertes
France
Entre deux falaises, ce petit village qui fut un belvédère de choix pour les habitants occupés et qui virent, au matin du 6 juin 1944 l'armada alliée des milliers de navires ouvrant le feu sur la plage d'Homaha. A l'arrière centre de l'image il y a une petite maison grise, face à la mer et légèrement en retrait qui reste authentique, elle a servi d'ailleurs du plan de scène dans le film "le jour le plus long" quand Fernand Ledoux et Pauline Carton ouvrent leurs volets et observent le soldat sur son âne et ses gamelles qui amène le ravitaillement et voit, affolé, les bateaux qui d'un seul coup s'illuminent du début de leurs tirs ! alors... le débarquement commence... FP

France is affectionately referred to as "the Hexagon" for its overall shape.French history goes back to the Gauls, a Celtic tribe which inhabited the area circa 300BC until being conquered by Julius Caesar.The Franks were the first tribe to adopt Catholic Christianity after the Roman Empire collapsed.
