The village is 5 km to the north-west from Zholkva, in the direction of Ravy-Russkaya. Volya-Vysotskaya is known since 1578. The unique wooden church of St. Archangel was preserved. Mikhail, dated 1598. During the First World War, the front line was nearby. In 1914, the Russian military pilot, the founder of aerobatics and the author of the "dead loop" P. Nesterov, during an air battle in the sky above Volya-Vysotskaya, made the first ram in the world, knocking down an Austrian aircraft. In this battle, he himself was killed. In Soviet times, a memorial was built, a monument was preserved. The neighboring town of Zholkva was renamed Nesterov.
