The building with the tall chimney to the Southeast is the citys backup powerplant which kicks in whenever the hydroelectric powerplant 50 km south of Nuuk fails or is taken down for maintenance.
To the South Nuuk Atlantic Habour is visible which is home to Royal Arctic Line.
