Kesu bog is located on the border of Rapla county and Pärnu county. Administratively, the majority of the bog is in Märjamaa municipality, and the southern edges of the bog also extend a little into the areas of Põhja Pärnumaa and Lääneranna municipalities.
The area of Kesu bog is 30 km². Peat reserves are 113 million m³. Per unit area, Kesu bog is among the bogs with the largest peat resources in Estonia. The absolute height of the bog is 21 meters.
