Kylemore Abbey is a Benedictine Monastery founded in 1920 in the Kylemore Castle where used to be a private home for the Mitchell Henry family in Connemara, County Galway in Ireland.
The first construction began in 1867 ant took four years to finish. In 1920 the Irish Benedictine Abbeys purchased the estate and since 70's the Castle and the gardens are open to the public. The Castle covered a 3700m2 area with 70 rooms including 33 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, 4 sitting rooms, ballroom, schoolroom, study, libary, smoke room and more.
