The group of new coastal forts were constructed at the beginning of World War I. These were (clockwise): Taarbæk Fort, connecting to the northern fort line; Flakfortet, at sea beyond Middelgrund; and Dragør Fort, Kongelundsfortet, Mosede Fort to the south.
