Piel Island lies 1⁄2 mile off the southern tip of the Furness peninsula in the administrative county of Cumbria, England, though historically within Lancashire, north of the sands. It is located at OS grid ref. SD233637. It is one of the Islands of Furness. It is the location of Piel Castle. This remote 50-acre island offers a charming pub & the ruins of a 14th-century stone castle.
