Ces ruines romantiques sont celles de l'ancienne église de Saint-Martin-le-Vieux.
Certaines parties de l'édifice, de style roman, datent des XIe et XIIe siècles.
L'arc séparant le chœur de la nef emprunte au gothique du XIIIe siècle alors que le double campanile qui le coiffe appartient au XVIe siècle.
La paroisse, née sans doute aux environs de l'an mil, avait pour patron saint Martin, apôtre des Gaulles.
Le sanctuaire fut, si l'on excepte la période révolutionnaire, ouvert au culte jusqu'en 1805.
Le cimetière qui l'entourait, selon la coutume chrétienne, servit de sépulture bien au-delà de cette date.
