Observatory built in the San Gabriel Mountains at 5,718 ft and 6 miles from the Mt. Wilson Observatory. It is owned and operated by amateur astronomers built in 1963. The primary instrument is a fork-mounted 30” Newtonian-Cassegrain reflector. When built it was the largest privately owned telescope.
We were waiting for the Leonids meteor shower, but the clouds did not cooperate. The clouds did part for peeks at the sky and a few meteors, the moon before it set, and the Orion Nebula on the 30-inch f/6 Newtonian reflector.
