Façade sud du château Peixotto de Talence - France

Château Peixotto  -  Façade sud  -  XVIIIe et XIXe siècles  -  calcaire

Ce trianon jouit de la réputation d'être "le plus agréable et le plus séduisant de ceux construits en banlieu dans la seconde moitié du XVIIIe siècle". Les remaniements subits au XIXe siècle entraînent l'apparition d'un fronton curviligne au-dessus du porche de l'entrée principale. Un décor de guirlande, imitation du XVIIIe siècle, encadre un médaillon dans lequel sont gravées les armoiries de la famille Peixotto. Une couronne de comte en surmonte les armes. Or, cette décoration déplaît à la municipalité de Talence qui en ordonne la destruction. Samuel Peixotto les convainc qu'il s'agit d'un pédréal, blason sur lequel figurent les armoiries d'une famille, et gravé en souvenir de la maison Lévi dont il a été reconnu chef par le roi d'Espagne.
