Alvão-Marão, Natural Park

Alvão and Marão form a mountain system that divides two distinct geographical realities, to the west the populous Entre Douro e Minho, and the nascent Trás-os-montes whose name evokes isolation. This sharp separation of climates, uses and ways of life motivated the famous phrase: beyond Marão those who are there send.
