大武崙砲台位於大武崙中、情人湖東方，是中法戰爭所遺留下來的古蹟，規模不小，且保存尚稱完整，被國家列為二級的古蹟。大武崙是扼守基隆港囗西側的重要據點，在道光中英鴉片戰爭及光緒的中法戰爭時，清廷均曾派其駐防。

營舍區有分為洞窟營舍及一般營舍兩種形式，尚有分交誼廳、餐廳、廚房等設施。這裡的洞窟營舍相當有名，共有三間，大中小各異，建築相當堅固。
