Calçada de Alpajares. It is about 800 meters long with at least 28 curves or lancets. Built of quartzite and quartzite pebbles spiked on the ground and well adjusted to each other, it is divided into levels of different sizes separated by small steps from 5 to 10cm high. The greater or lesser length of these levels is in relation to the inclination of the terrain on which they rest, as well as with the lancets or curves and the greater or lesser radius of these, thus, they are longer where the climb is smoother, and shorter where is more pronounced. Its width varies between 1.50m to 2.40m.
Sidewalks of this type that are referenced at national level, appear as medieval, but may have originated in Roman times. They are generally about 2 meters wide, built with limestone stones and some pebbles and feature wedge stones, delimiting the shoulders and the central axis of the road.
