On a beautiful evening in early summer, I walked up Ensign Peak to try taking my first 360 panoramas. Flowers bloomed along the trail: wild pea, thistle, sego, paintbrush and primrose.
Ensign Peak has cultural and religious significance for many Utahns and those of the LDS faith. The LDS religious leader and settler, Brigham Young, and companions climbed the peak to survey the Salt Lake Valley within days of their arrival. A monument and several plaques now mark the place within a larger public green space overlooking the city.
