Panoramic photo taken during the Flower Festival ("Festa das Flores") at Campo Maior in Northern Alentejo, Portugal. This "Festas do Povo" (People's Fair) takes place every four years (although this last time it took 7 years) where locals secretly prepare paper flower decorations to display along their streets. There were over 100 streets decorated between 27 August and 4 September 2011 and at least 2 million persons visited the small city of Campo Maior.

It is composed of the two largest provinces in Spain: Cáceres yBadajoz. Extremadura bounded on the north by the provinces of Salamanca, Ávila (Castilla y León), south conHuelva, Sevilla and Cordoba (Andalusia), on the east, with Toledo and Ciudad Real (Castilla-La Mancha) and west conPortugal.
