佛陀紀念館係為弘揚佛法、供俸護藏近三十年的佛牙舍利而興建，2011年落成，主體建築位於中軸線，外圍設計「前有八塔，後有大佛，南有靈山，北有祇園」的宏偉格局，是一座融和古今與中外、傳統與現代的建築，並具有文化與教育、慧解與修持的功能。其中，佛光大佛為佛陀紀念館的地標，通高108公尺，像高50公尺，為世界最高銅構坐佛，內藏百萬心經於法身以庇護人間，為社會帶來安定與和諧。
