Le pont qui mène au château de Gratot - France
France

Le château de Gratot, est un château de la commune de Gratot, dans le département de la Manche. Bâti dès le XIVe siècle, il est maintes fois transformé jusqu'à son apogée au XVIIIe siècle, avant d'être laissé à l'abandon. Classé monument historique de nos jours, c'est devenu un lieu touristique.

Le premier château de Gratot fut construit au XIVe siècle, par la famille d'Argouges, barons de Gratot depuis 1251. Il subit de nombreuses modifications jusqu'au XVIIIe siècle. La famille d'Argouges le vend en 1771. C'est au XVIIIe siècle que Gratot est érigé en marquisat. Laissé à l'abandon au XIXe siècle par ses différents propriétaires, il servit même d'entrepôt pour les fourrages animaux des fermiers du secteur. Mais depuis 1968, il retrouve peu à peu sa santé grâce aux bénévoles qui le rénovent et permettent de lui faire retrouver un aspect présentable. En 2003, il a reçu près de 12 600 visiteurs ! Il est aujourd'hui classé monument historique.
