The Church of St. Decuman in Rhoscrowther is located in the shadow of a large oil refinery, near Milford Haven. The roof of the medieval parish church was badly damaged by an explosion at the refinery in 1993, an unfortunate incident that also caused the demise of the village.
The Grade I listed building is dedicated to a 7th century local who lived the life of a hermit near Watchet, in Somerset, until he was martyred in 706 ‘at the hands of a truculent fellow who cut off his head with a spade’.
The unused building is one of a number now cared for by the Friends of Friendless Churches.
