Menjangan Island (meaning Deer Island in Indonesian), masterpiece of the West Bali National Park, is an exceptional snorkeling spot. This particular spot is called the "Coral Garden", for good reason. The concentration of coral is fantastic.
In the background can be seen the island of Java, which is only a few miles away. More particluarly, it is the Ijen volcanic complex that can be easily seen from the island, home to the famous Kawah Ijen crater lake.
Back to Menjangan, there is a small Hindu temple on the island, where a few monks live. The temple can be easily accessed through the pier featured on this panorama.
This place really represents well the landscapes Indonesian archipelago, with a mix of coral and volcanoes.
