Here you can see tourists entering one of the two city gates at Medina. Note the horse carraige with rubberised wheels, allowing it to work within the city walls.
The heat was intense during August, close to 40ºC and there are very little trees or other shade on the island. The Medina city streets, with closely knit buildings and perches overlooking the countryside is a perfect place to wander, even in the heat of the day. There is always a cafe close by and the construction of the place is quite amazing.
