This view shows the east end of Minnesota Avenue in McCloud, California. Just down the road at the 300 block (I didn't photograph there due to private residences) is where 27 year old Karin Mero & 15 year old Hannah Zaccaglini both disappeared while walking along this street in front of what locals call the 'infamous green house'. Both girls were local residents; Mero was last seen walking by that home on February 15, 1997 & Zaccaglini a few months later on June 4, 1997. The green house was owned by a man named Ed Henline Sr. & his son Ed Henline Jr. was dating Karin Mero at the time she disappeared. Locals called the residence a 'party house' & it was reported that Ed Sr. did not like Mero.
It is believed both cases of the missing girls are connected & in November 2012 locals breathed a sigh of relief when the Siskiyou County Sheriff's Office arrested Ed Sr. for Hannah's murder w/ Ed. Jr. arrested for conspiracy & accessory to the crime. However the county's district attorney dismissed the charges against both men in May 2013 citing that without a body, nobody could be charged. Currently 25 years on both girls have yet to be located (due to Mero's health conditions she is likely not alive) & as of 2019 there has been a $2,500 reward if not more for information leading to a conviction of either Mero or Zaccaglini's cases.
