高雄內門宋江嘉年華會是台灣規模最大的藝陣嘉年華會，宋江陣的由來係為配合內門紫竹寺觀音佛祖遶境，融合水滸傳情結，排練而成宋江戲，進而演變民俗藝陣－宋江陣，有驅邪避煞、開路解厄等功能。台灣南部宋江陣最為流行，且內門區宋江隊伍最多，堪稱藝陣之鄉，每年3~4月舉辦之際，匯集全台陣藝團共襄盛舉，揚旗揮舞、鳴鑼振鼓間頗具較量展藝的氣勢，場面華麗壯觀，吸引國內外民眾前往觀賞，眾人專注且崇敬的神情瞭然於表。
