Oban is a town in Argyll and Bute. Is located at Oban bay, a part of the Firth of Lorn. Main industry is tourism. There is an important ferry port with many connections to the Inner and Outer Hebrides. The Oban distillery - founded in 1794 – is still producing a fine whisky.
