The "Rossio" square in the center of the city is also called "Praça Dom Pedro IV". On top of the central column is a statue of Pedro IV. He was the first ruler of an indepentent Brasil. The National Theater "Teatro Nacional Dona Maria II" is at the squares northern end.

Capital, largest, and wealthiest city in Portugal and one of the leading economic centers on the Iberian Peninsula.
