Gigapixel view from the summit of Russian Peak (elev. 8,190'), the highest point in the Russian Wilderness west of Callahan, California. The summit has a fantastic 360 degree view w/ Mt. Shasta, Mount Eddy, & China Mountain to the east, a distant view of Lassen Peak, south towards the Trinity Alps Wilderness, west towards Salmon Mountain & a distant marine layer over the Pacific Ocean, & north towards the Marble Mountain Wilderness. The summit is mostly forested w/ the summit areas consisting of several large granite boulders. To the south, one can see red areas from the River Complex that burned during the 2021 River Complex Fire.
