Located in the center of the capital, Santiago, it is the main theatrical and cultural center of Chile. It has been a fundamental contribution to the cultural development of Chile, its main activities being opera, symphonic concerts, zarzuela, ballet, theater and chamber music. Construction began on January 7, 1853, by decree ordered by President Manuel Montt. It was designed by the architect Francois Brunet De Baines and the civil engineer Philippe-Auguste Charme de L'Isle, Frenchmen living in Chile, faithful representatives of the neoclassical school.
The photo was taken looking from the stage towards the public, using HDR exposures that allowed to recover the details that are lost due to the intensity and large number of spotlights.
