This is the Grizzly Giant Sequoia within the Mariposa Grove, In the southern part of Yosemite National Park. The tree is Giant Sequoia is quoted as being the oldest in the grove at 1900-2400years old! Has a volume of 963 cubic metres and is 64 metres high! It is the 24th largest tree in the world. The day we went to see the grove, the car park was shut. This meant a 2 mile hike to the grove itself and then a bit further to get to the Grizzly Giant. It was a quick visit as we then had to get back to the bus.. 3 miles down the road!
