湖內區的寧靖王墓，是明太祖八世孫朱術桂的墓園。寧靖王朱術桂被鄭經請來鎮守台灣，來台後，選定竹滬、大湖附近屯田，還在湖內開闢了「月眉池」作為灌溉之用，對早期的田地開發很有貢獻。後來滿清攻打台灣，因不願當亡國奴而自殺殉國，人民以蓋廟及建墓園來紀念他。寧靖王墓現為三級古蹟，園內古榕參天，花木繁茂，讓人感念寧靖王的忠義精神。
