Municipality Status

Appears north of La Zarza, near the left bank of the Guadiana, more connected to both the scope of influence that the Mérida Guareña. It has a railway station on the line to Madrid.

ECONOMIC ACTIVITY .- In the distribution by sectors shows a predominance of agriculture, followed by services and less manufacturing and construction. Most of the land is cultivated, watered the Zújar Canal, while recent land consolidation. The main crops are corn, tomatoes, cotton, olives etc.
